Eduardo Eurnekian
CEO & President In Corporación América


Born in 1932, Eduardo Eurnekian is an Argentine entrepreneur who currently presides as CEO and President of Corporación América, 1st Vice President of the Argentine Chamber of Commerce, Member of the Executive Board of the International Chamber of Commerce, President of the Inter-American Trade and Production Council and Chairman of the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation.

 Mr. Eurnekian initiated his career in the textile industry and later diversified into communications and multi-media. He has owned and operated a major Argentine broadcast television station, four Argentine radio stations and two Argentine newspapers. He also established Argentina’s first cable television company.

 Since 1998, Corporación América has grown into a global holding company whose diverse businesses include airport management, infrastructure development and services, mining, financial services, energy, agricultural, wine, nano-technology and microchip production. Operating 53 airports in Argentina, Brazil, Italy, Armenia, Ecuador, Peru and Uruguay, Corporación América is currently the largest global airport operator in terms of number of licenses.

 Corporación América is also currently championing the Bioceanico Aconcagua Corridor project involving the development and operation of a 52 km low altitude tunnel that will cross the Andes mountain range from Argentina to Chile thereby providing direct access to the Pacific Rim for goods produced in Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay.

 Among the awards that Mr. Eurnekian has received are the following:

“Leonardo Award”, Italy (1999) – from the Italian Government
“Man of the Year”, from the Armenian General Benevolent Union (2010)
“Knight of Holy Etchmiadzin Order”, from the Catholicos of all Armenians, His Holiness Karekin II (2011)
“Certificate of Appreciation” from UNDP – for his role as an “advocate for sustainable development” in Armenia (2012)
“Business for Peace Award”, Oslo Business for Peace Foundation (2012)
“Businessman of the Year”, CAMACOL – Latin Chambers of Commerce and Industry (2012)
“Businessman of the Year – Services Category”, Argentine Businessmen Association (2012), for his role in supporting sustainable development in Armenia, for his efforts in the country aimed at reducing poverty, bridging regional disparities, creating jobs and improving the quality of services, such as the One-Laptop-per-Child program and related resources.
